Registration Underway for Israel/Palestine Study Seminar
Trinity professors Mark Allan Powell and Henry J. Langknecht will lead a study tour of the Holy Land in a course titled “Holy Land and City of Eternal Peace: The Eternal Quest,” during the January Term, January 5-22, 2011. The trip is open to students, alumni and the general community.
Participants will walk where Jesus walked, tour important sites in biblical history, visit museums and the archaeological remains of palaces and synagogues, and listen to the struggles for peace and justice from local Christians, Jews, and Muslims. Destinations include Caesarea, Nazareth, the Sea of Galilee, Jerusalem, Bethlehem and the Mt. of Olives. Travel by boat on the Sea of Galilee, float in the salty water of the Dead Sea, and visit Jerusalem’s Western Wall, the ruins of Jericho and the plains of Armageddon.
The total cost for the trip is $3,725, including round-trip air fare, comprehensive sightseeing, hotel accommodations, breakfast and dinner daily, private bus and guide. An initial deposit of $500 ($250 non-refundable) is due with the completed registration. The final payment is due October 4.
The tour departs Columbus on Wednesday, January 5, arriving in Tel Aviv on January 6. The group arrives back in Columbus on January 22. For more information contact the Rev. Dr. Mark Allan Powell.
